There are also cases where the UK government has expressed frustration with the limitations that the Habitats Directive have placed or have been considered to impose on particular infrastructure developments. Therefore, it is possible that Brexit within the EEA would lead the government to relax some of the provisions of the UK implementing regulations for the Habitats Directive, again without pressure to comply from the EU.
